See if something is spreading
💡Spotted a single post? Check whether it is actually spreading, how far, and who is carrying it.
You have seen one post, perhaps an alarming publication on a Telegram channel about a plague escaping a lab in Siberia, and you need to know quickly whether it is an isolated signal or the start of something. A couple of questions gauge the scale, the assets involved, the platforms, and the narratives forming around it.
When to use this
When a single post or a thin signal needs a fast reality check: whether the topic is present in the wider Information Landscape, at what scale, on which platforms, and who is driving it.
Before you start
Asset. Any account, channel, or outlet Vantage tracks.
Known Asset. An Asset with a documented behavioral track record warranting elevated scrutiny, a designation applied to an existing Asset record, expressed as an Evidence Score of Possible, Probable, or Confirmed.
Reference Asset. An Asset whose identity and operator the client already knows, either because they own it or because they treat it as a known reference point, held outside the classification pipeline so it can serve as a fixed measurement anchor in the Information Landscape.
💡 Tip: Keep the window tight. You are measuring what is happening now, not the historical background.
The walkthrough
- Set a tight, recent window
Keep the time range short, the recent few days, so you measure current activity rather than historical background. Leave all platforms and all assets on to catch the full spread.

- Ask how the topic is being discussed
Gauge the scale and the narratives forming around it.
Example question: How is the incident of the plague escaping a lab in Siberia being discussed?
- Ask who is carrying it
Identify the assets involved and the facts being shared.
Example question: Who spreads messages about the plague escaping a lab in Siberia, and what key facts are shared?
- Check platforms and asset types
Read the platform and asset-type breakdown to see where the topic lives and whether Known Assets are involved. If Known Assets are active early, treat the signal as higher priority.
- Share feedback at any point
Tell us whenever something is not working or does not look right, or share what would make Ask Ember better for you. At the bottom of every report, rate the result with a thumbs up or down, or use the Share Feedback button to send a note.
