Narrative Pulse gives you a live view of the narratives shaping your Information Landscape. This page walks through the interface — **what each element does, how filters work, and how to read each page type.**

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/NtfAl2ISrDrYHh7fsOa4D/rJEOWdKr2BognyrnVMoeA_onboarding-landscape-page-default.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="4329" height="2400" darkWidth="4329" darkHeight="2400" showCaption="false"}

Narrative Pulse has four page types:

- **Narrative Landscape:&#x20;**&#x45;verything in your subscription — the entry point.
- <font color="#5866C5">**Narrative (N)**</font>: a recurring pattern of meaning that frames how an individual or group understand events, and through that framing, shapes the actions they take. We structure it as Agent | Operator | Target.
- <font color="#E7AA00">**Subnarrative (SN)**</font>: a specific instantiation of a Narrative that adds operational “how” or “what”. It keeps the parent’s Agent, Operator, and Target, then adds a Specifier: through which mechanism, in what context, or around what specific case or event the Narrative manifests in the real landscape.
- <font color="#EA4E00">**Narrative Trigger (NT)\:**</font> a cluster of trending real-world discussions or events that triggers appearance or re-appearance of a Narrative in the landscape.

*Each page type has its own accent colour, applied throughout its interface. If you're not sure what you're looking at, the colour tells you.*

## Reading the numbers

1. <font color="#0C121D">**Everywhere you see a percentage change\:** </font> <font color="#E32E07">**Red means up**</font> <font color="#E32E07">**↑** </font> <font color="#099447">**Green means down** </font><font color="#099447">**↓** </font>
   💡 *More activity means more attention needed, so the colour signals urgency rather than performance.*
2. <font color="#0C121D">**Publications and Engagement measure different things.**</font>&#x20;
   Publications is total individual publications in the landscape for the period. Publication is a content unit: any single post, article, share, or repost produced by an Asset.
   Engagement combines reactions, comments, and shares in the landscape for the period.
   &#xDCA1;*&#x20;Comparing them is informative: high publications with low engagement suggests a narrative being pushed but not landing. Low publications with high engagement suggests the opposite.*
3. <font color="#0C121D">**Not every metric exists on every platform.**</font>
   Views are available only for YouTube, TikTok, and Telegram.&#x20;
   Engagement is not available for Web.&#x20;
   Empty cells (—) mean the metric doesn't exist for that platform, not zero.
   Sorting by Views or Engagement shows only the platforms that support them.

## Narrative Landscape Page

The overview of your entire subscription, and where every session starts.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**1 —** **Tab**</font><font color="#6B21A8">**s bar**</font>

Narrative Landscape is your home view — always on the left, always available. Every Narrative, Subnarrative, or Trigger you open from a table appears as an extra tab next to it, **like browser tabs**.&#x20;

### <font color="#6B21A8">**2 —** **Narrative Lookup** </font>

Type keywords and get matching Narratives, Subnarratives and Narrative Triggers under your current filters. Picking one takes you straight to it.
💡 Lookup is a navigation tool, not a filter — it doesn't change the page you're on.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**3 —** **Assets and Platforms Filter**</font>

Limits results to specific type of Assets and to specific platforms.&#x20;

### <font color="#6B21A8">**4 —** **Time**</font>

Sets the period for every number and chart. Last 5 Days and 10 Days are presets; Custom opens a date picker for any range.

**⚠️ Important:** Filters apply across the whole platform, not per tab. Change Assets, Platforms, or Time anywhere, and every open tab updates to match — including tabs you opened earlier and haven't revisited.
**💡 The Practical Implication:&#x20;**&#x53;et your filters first, then explore. If you change a filter halfway through an investigation, every number you've already looked at has changed too.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**5 —** **Narrative Landscape Numbers**</font>

**Publications**. Total individual publications in the landscape for the period.
**Narratives**. Distinct Narratives that were active in the period.
**Narrative Triggers**. Distinct Triggers that were active in the period.

💡 These totals won't equal the sum of the table below. One publication can carry several Narratives — it counts once in the landscape total, and once for each Narrative it advances. Adding up a column and comparing it to the card is not a meaningful check.

&#xDCA1;*&#x20;Only one is shown at a time. Both use the same filters and time range from the top bar. The number in parentheses is the total after filters — so it changes when you change any filter.*

##

The Narrative page shows one storyline in depth: how much it was amplified, how that changed, which Subnarratives it splits into, and which. Narrative Triggers are feeding it.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/NtfAl2ISrDrYHh7fsOa4D/6AUa_bAg8ral74tuPw7LC_narrative-page-full.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="2880" height="1600" darkWidth="2880" darkHeight="1600" showCaption="false"}

<font color="#6E7DE5">**Narrative -**</font> a recurring pattern of meaning that frames how an individual or group understand events, and through that framing, shapes the actions they take; structured as Agent | Operator | Target.

- **Agent** — the entity performing the action in a Narrative: a country, institution, official, company, or group. Agent reveals who is being framed as active or responsible.
- **Target** — the entity receiving the action or being affected by the Agent. Target does not always mean victim — it simply identifies the object of the action in a Narrative.
- **Operator** — the core verb conveying the main action, state, or relationship between Agent and Target.

&#xDCA1;*&#x20;So "Russia harms Ukraine" reads as Agent (Russia) | Operator (harms) | Target (Ukraine).*

**💡&#x20;***A Narrative is composite and recurring. It is held up by many Subnarratives at once, which is why refuting a single claim rarely defeats it — and the same pattern returns across different events with different specifics each time. The recurrence is itself the signal.*

📈 Publications:

##

**Subnarrative —** a specific instantiation of a Narrative that adds a Specifier: through which mechanism, in what context, or around what specific case or event the Narrative manifests in the real landscape

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/NtfAl2ISrDrYHh7fsOa4D/T2LHp_54UkLnLm1iBCH2R_subnarrative-page-full.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="4320" height="2400" darkWidth="4320" darkHeight="2400" showCaption="false"}

So under the Narrative "Russia Harms Ukraine", the Subnarrative "Russia harms Ukraine **through missile and drone strikes**" keeps the parent statement and adds the operational “how” or “what” in bold.

💡 Audiences engage with Subnarratives, not with the abstract Narrative. A Narrative persists because many Subnarratives hold it up at once — so refuting one claim rarely defeats the parent. This page is where you find which specific angles are doing the lifting.

Each Subnarrative belongs to exactly one parent Narrative.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/NtfAl2ISrDrYHh7fsOa4D/0zpBmJY67wcF0Rt3LqQWO_subnarrative-page-123.png)

### <font color="#6B21A8">**1 — Navigation banner**</font>

Records how you got here — *Navigated from Narrative "Russia harms Ukraine"*. It appears whenever you open an entity from another entity's table, and not when you land on the page directly.

**Open the whole navigation path** expands the full chain you followed, step by step, from the Landscape onwards.

**💡 Why this exists.** The same Subnarrative or Narrative Trigger can be reached from several different parents, and tabs build up quickly during an investigation. The entity itself doesn't tell you which route you took — but the route is often the point. *"This Trigger came up while I was looking at the economic angle"&#x20;*&#x69;s a different finding from *"this Trigger came up while I was looking at the military angle"*, even though the Trigger page looks identical either way.

Use it when you come back to a tab you opened earlier and can't remember why.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**2 — Parent Narrative chip and title**</font>

The Narrative chip names the parent — click ↗ to open it in its own tab.&#x20;
Below it, the Subnarrative chip and the full statement, with the specifier emphasised in bold.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**4 — Subnarrative Volume**</font>

This chart shows the dynamic of this Subnarrative’s volume - by publications or engagement - reflecting your active filters (assets, platforms, timeframe).

📈 Publications:
Each point is the number of unique publications connected to this Subnarrative — every publication counts once.

📈 Engagement:
Each point is the accumulative engagement (sum of reactions, comments, and shares).

💡 Compare this against the parent Narrative's chart. If the parent is flat but this Subnarrative is climbing, this specific angle is where the movement is — that is the thing to respond to, not the parent.

### <font color="#6B21A8">**5 — Generate Summary**</font>

Each row shows Rank, the Trigger name with ↗ to open it in its own tab, Publications and Engagement with their % changes, and Subnarratives — how many Subnarratives that Trigger touches in total.

⚠️ That last column is the Trigger's own total, across the whole landscape — not "Subnarratives it shares with this one". A Trigger typically feeds several unrelated angles at once, which is the point of the object.

## <font color="#EA4E00">Narrative Trigger Page</font>

**Narrative Trigger** — a cluster of trending real-world discussions or events that activates or reactivates a Narrative in the Information Landscape. It is **not the event itself**, and not a single publication: it is the observable conversation around it.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/NtfAl2ISrDrYHh7fsOa4D/9fdF5fszWKfX6sS1tAYBh_narrative-trigger-page-full.png" size="80" isUploading="false" width="4320" height="2400" darkWidth="4320" darkHeight="2400" showCaption="false"}

Triggers explain **timing** — why a long-dormant Narrative resurfaces this week rather than last. One Trigger can feed several Narratives and Subnarratives in parallel, so this object cuts across the hierarchy rather than sitting inside it.

**💡 Identifying the Trigger is how you separate genuine resurgence from manufactured resurgence** — public concern reigniting a Narrative, versus an operation seeding a Narrative into a discussion it engineered or captured.
