# Interface Overview
Ask Ember — an RAG app fully based on our curated data. Ask a question, get a narrative report - ready to download and share.

1 — ⚙️ Select the **timeline**, **platforms**, **assets**, **countries**, and **languages** for the analysis.
2 —💡 Before formulating your question, you can always take a look at our ‘How to Use’ guidelines along with ‘Examples of Questions’.
3 — 💬 Enter your** question focusing on specific incidents and events **that cannot be misinterpreted and do not require judgments. Avoid assumptions and desired formatting in the questions.
**Click "Generate Report"**
4 — 📊 With the generated report, you will also get a **dataset with all the publications data** (date, platform, asset category, asset’s name, language, text of the publication, and link) which you may further investigate by viewing or downloading.
5 — ⬇️ Download a report. To download the report, you should press the button ‘Download full report’ (PDF and dataset table) or ‘Download report in PDF’ (PDF only).

# How to use
1. Focus on analysing **specific incidents and events** rather than broad, non-specific or recurring trends.
**Don’t ask:**
❌ What are the key narratives?
❌ What is discussed in the information space?
**Do ask:**
✅ What are the key narratives around elections in Moldova?
✅ What is the discourse around Moldova’s EU integration?
2. **Ask clear questions** that cannot be misinterpreted and do not require judgment.
**Don’t ask:**
❌ '*What are the popular conspiracies about NATO?'*
**Why**: Assets rarely label their narratives as a “conspiracy”. The model would have to subjectively judge which statements qualify as a conspiracy, a task it can't perform accurately
❌ '*What type of content is produced regarding the Georgian Government?'*
**Why: **“Type of content” can be interpreted by the Ask Ember as text, video, image, etc. or malign/productive content
3. **Avoid assumptions in your questions.** AI models can have confirmation bias, meaning they may focus on confirming your assumption rather than objectively analysing the data.
**Don’t ask:**
❌ *How is the enlargement of NATO being portrayed negatively?*
**Why:** This question biases the Ask Ember to find only negative examples and ignore the full picture, giving you an incomplete answer
**Do ask:**
✅ *How is NATO enlargement being portrayed?*
**Filters:** Select specific asset types or languages
4. **Avoid mentioning the desired formatting **(e.g. number of cases, bullet points) and use filter choice instead of text input.
**Don’t ask:**
❌ *Provide 5 key points…/Use this structure…*
❌ *What are the main narratives about X for the last 2 weeks?*
❌ *What are the main narratives around X spread by malign assets?*
**Do ask:**
✅ *What are the main narratives about X?*
Filters: Choose the last two weeks for the investigation period
✅ *What are the main narratives about X?*
Filters: Choose Malign Assets in the list of asset types
5. Keep your questions short **(up to 10 words)**.
**Do ask:**
✅ *What is the discourse around \[country]’s EU integration?*
✅ *Provide an overview of discussions around NATO*
6. Follow an iterative approach using different filters **(investigation period, platforms, assets categories, and languages)**.
**How**: Start with a question and then narrow your investigation down, using a longer or shorter timeframe (months, 2 weeks, a few days) and applying a different set of asset types (e.g. Malign Assets only), platforms, and languages.
7. Don't ask questions that require metric calculation or comparison. This feature will be available soon, so stay tuned 🙌
